My cousin's husband has mowed a backwards question mark in the lawn.
People have to make their own subdued excitement here.
While searching for a picture of the City of Subdued Excitement mural that adorns a building in downtown Bellingham, I ran across this diatribe written by an old acquaintance from the Bellingham Science Fiction and Fantasy Club: "The Unexplained Curse of Bellingham, WA: A dissertation on the most anti-social place in the world".
"You see, in this town, there is a legendary "curse of Bellingham" where once you live here, you are destined (or doomed perhaps) to stay. Those who attempt to leave are often brought back by a series of circumstances, sometimes against their own will. It's a phenomenon so common and frequent among Bellingham residents, that it earned itself the reputation of being a “curse.” It’s not known how or why such an alleged curse works, only that its effects seem eerily real, as well as a noticeable pattern."
Personally, I have lived in Bellingham 5 different times! I moved away and back again in between, and I'm not opposed to moving back here again some day! OH NOES THE CURSE HAS ME!
Orange chicken.
We are going to have leftovers, so the yumminess will continue into the night.
And now my favorite...Mongolian Beef!
Moo shoo pork pancakes
Hot and sour soup, spring rolls, pot stickers.
YAY! We are at my favorite restaurant for dinner!
My brother is freaking out because I put ketchup on my potatoes and apparently Heinz Ketchup has OMG EVIL HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP in it.
I don't care -- I'm on vacation.
My mom and stepdad opened a cafe in his store earlier this year.
He likes to collect old signs.
This is my stepdad's store.
Mmm... tentacles!
I love the presentation here.
They wrote the name of the restaurant, Nimbus.
In other news, Mom just broke the news that our cat, Tasha, is missing and presumed dead. :( :( :(
It's from Kona Brewing in Hawaii. Pretty decent, fairly smooth, medium richness of flavor.
We got here by riding one of the only elevators in town!
Mmm... fudge!
