No beer for me :(
I am low-carb dieting again. :(
The chicken lettuce wraps are good. The filling is chicken, tofu (I hope tofu isn't high carb -- I forget), and green onion, which you put in leaves of lettuce to make a wrap, then dip in one of three sauces.
(Update: This was at the Yard House, of course.)

I don't think you need to go on a diet. Regardless, I have been thinking about trying out low carbing and wonder what your past experiences were? I think it would be hard to give up beer...
As far as tofu, it has roughly 2 grams per standard 1 ounce cube. Not a lot, but can add up quick.

I friend told me that Miller Lite has 3 carbs per 12 oz bottle, but you would probably get boo'ed out of the Yard House.

"I don't think you need to go on a diet."
I've gained, like, 25 pounds since Hubby and I started dating. (He's gained 30.) The other day I stepped on the scale and it said 149 and I was all OMGWTFBBQ TOO FAT TOO FAT.
"I have been thinking about trying out low carbing and wonder what your past experiences were?"
It's been a very effective weight loss method for me in the pass. The side effects suck -- headache, nausea, lethargy, an obsession with cupcakes -- but the pounds drop off. Then once I'm at my target weight I can go back to a normal healthy diet and maintain my weight if I exercise. (An important "if" -- I stopped exercising regularly when I started working at the robotics company, and still haven't gotten back into the habit although a month ago Hubby and I finally started going to the gym again occasionally.)

How long does the low carb diet take to remove the excess weight?

IIRC, I typically lose weight at a rate of 2-5 pounds/week while on a low-carb diet.

Incidentally, if you catch MRSA, take antibiotics, and have a reaction to those antibiotics that destroys your appetite (alongside your sense of taste), that's a great way to lose 2-5 pounds a week too.
If that happens every week.

Proving that the saying, "you don't own beer, you rent it," isn't all that accurate, after all.
