Welcome back. Tried to find your old blog when I was planning a trip to Costa Rica. Really enjoyed your reviews of life, travel, and food there!! Is any of those older posts still available to view? I'm trying to decide which airport SJO or LIR to fly into, or maybe fly into SJO, rent a car and drive towards LIR and fly out of there. Suggestions?
BTW, good luck with grad school!

If you're planning on spending your vacation on the Caribbean coast then you are probably better off flying directly into LIR. Driving in Costa Rica is dangerous and frustrating and thus I advise that you strive to minimize your time behind the wheel!
